Delicacies and Culture in Vieux-Lyon
A must, while staying in our fully equipped apartments, is a visit, just next door, to one of Lyon's most famous cake shops "À la Marquise ". The name was given by the Marquise de Sevigne who slept here when she visited Lyon in the 17th century. You can enjoy a breakfast of freshly baked croissants or sample the many wonderful " french specialities " such as : sweet buns or "bugnes", a sugar coated mini donut or "praline" tart (almonds coated with red sugar). During the Christmas period, you can sample "papillotes", a chocolate sweet and enjoy the jokes and proverbs written on the wrapping paper.
A wonderful place to visit full of « Vieux-Lyon’s » history the interior courtyard , one of the most visited sites in Lyon which represents the changing Styles of architecture from gothic to Renaissance dating from the 16th century . This courtyard is behind the cake shop "La maison du chamarier "
